Elections 2021/2022

Nominations are now open for our 2021/2022 executive committee. Nominations will close on Sunday 6th June at 23:59pm.

Elections will be hosted on Wednesday 9th June at 18:00pm on Microsoft Teams. The link can be found here

You are required to send an email to d.hunt.3@warwick.ac.uk with the role you are applying for and an optional one PowerPoint slide manifesto.
At Elections you are required to give a speech (max. 2 minutes ; 4 minutes for President and Vice President), after which, everyone in attendance will vote.

Below you will find a complete list of available roles and their respective responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Chair Executive Meetings 
  • Oversee the workings of the society, assign roles and targets 
  • Lead and inform the visionand ethos of the society  
  • Figurehead and face of the society  
  • Support the development of skills within the team 
  • Apply to Society Awards 
Vice President
  • Chair Executive Meetings in the absence of the President  
  • Curate & Distribute biweekly newsletter  
  • Take minutes during meetings
  • Support President in all their functions & roles
  • Be responsible for arranging meetings
  • Run the Buddy System 
  • Point of contact for mentoring scheme in collaboration with Cambridge University 
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of finances 
  • Ensure processing of all funds through the SU 
  • Submit grant funding applications 
  • Produce the annual financial report 
  • Assist the Industry Links Coordinator with securing funding 
Industry Links
  • Point of contact for external companies 
  • Handle the WWES email account 
  • Network on  behalf of WWES (and yourself) 
  • Create the email template for WWES emails
  • Send emails to WWES members
  • Help with events planning/finding speakers 
Collaborations Officer
  • Facilitate communications between societies and external organisations  
  • Manage large groups of people for collaborative events 
  • Attend meetings with other societies 
  • Attend events with prospective collaboration societies 
  • Coordinate arrangements/logistics of large collaborative events  
Marketing Officer
  • Design and template all posters, flyers, roller banners  
  • Design and order WWES merchandise 
  • Produce digital screen marketing (through SU, ESO and Oculus) 
  • Obtain marketing material/content from events (photos/videos/feedback) 
  • Create videos for promotions and award applications 
Events Coordinator
  • Organise and run academic events 
  • Ensure events meet the accessibility requirements of members/attendees 
  • Participate in marketing of events including lecture shoutouts 
  • Contact external speakers 
  • Liaise with other societies to arrange collaborative events  
Publicity Officer
  • Run all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn) 
  • Advertise society events and socials (including lecture shout outs) 
  • Collaborate with the Inclusion, Welfare and Campaigns officer for social media campaigns 
  • Mark important events such as International Women’s day, STEM week, etc. 
  • Promote WWES sponsor's events and opportunities 
Outreach Coordinator
  • Organise Outreach programmes with local schools 
  • Work with Warwick Volunteers to find volunteers for running school workshops 
  • Create Outreach materials to share with schools 
  • Organise Workshop events for Warwick students 
Social Secretary
  • Organise socials throughout term (drinking and sober socials) 
  • Organise events for Wellbeing Wednesdays  
  • Make the Facebook events for socials 
  • Collaborate with other societies for socials 
  • Run Circle for POP! and Skool Dayz – Target: 2 POP!s and 1 Skool dayz / Term  
  • Organise Buddy System socials 
IT Officer
  • Create and maintain the society’s website 
  • Ensure that all IT provisions are catered to and accessible to all members 
  • Support marketing campaigns and social activities 
  • Ensure good flow of both internal and external communications 
  • Set up and maintain the email service 
Inclusion, Welfare and Campaigns Officer
  • Do Warwick SU’s required welfare training 
  • Work with Social Secretary to organise and run Wellbeing Wednesday events 
  • Promote campaigns such as International Women’s Day, Pride Awareness Weeks, ect. 
  • Be a point of contact for people to talk to
